Intelligent lighting solutions prove popular

As LED technology becomes more advanced, Diamond believes the market will be demanding more intelligent lighting solutions. The company talks to PEW about its venture into this area with its own brand of Select Technology.

For the Wholesaler, the increased uptake of intelligent lighting solutions presents something different to sell with added value, higher specifications and improved functionality. The new technology also benefits by saving on stock holding as the need to store both cool and warm versions of the same product is eradicated.

Diamond offers a wide range of changeable colour temperature luminaires including downlights, bulkheads, round panels and linear batten fittings. The Phoenix colour switchable bulkheads and Trinity Tri Colour battens are proving to be extremely popular with wholesalers and end users and the company predicts that this is a pattern likely to continue.

Case study

The feedback from wholesale customers has shown that the Select range has been a hit, with end users and installers also benefiting from the latest popular trends.

One of the first customers to stock Diamond’s Select range across its four branches is Worthington & Jones, a family-owned, independent electrical wholesaler operating across north Wales and Shropshire. Lauren Powell, Worthington & Jones manager, comments: “The Trinity fitting is one of the best battens I’ve seen in a good while. Available in a choice of three lengths – 4, 5 and 6 ft, our customer’s like it as it’s easy to fit and all they have to do is flick a switch to change the colour temperature.”

Powell continues “In fact, sales of the Trinity have boosted our business, as electricians who have installed them keep coming back for more. As more people experience the benefits of CCT, we look forward to the new innovations that Diamond has in the pipeline.”

Worthington and Jones’ biggest buyer of Diamond Select products is Coleman’s Electrical in Wrexham. They have installed Diamond fittings throughout Wrexham Maelor and Chirk Hospital as well as surrounding clinics within the Betsi Cadwaladr Trust.  Fraser Coleman, partner at Coleman’s says: “The biggest benefit of these tri- colour Select fittings is that you can just pick one up from Worthies knowing that when you get to the end user they have a choice of three colours meaning you do not have to return to the wholesaler; because the customer doesn’t like the colour temperature.”

Ashley Coleman, partner observes: “This product has brought us so much ease especially in the ever growing LED market. Diamond are keeping up and bringing out brilliant products like the Select range, they are so easy to install and extremely reliable!”

When it comes to specifying LED products, Diamond can support wholesalers and their customers with site visits and using Relux software the experienced in-house design team will provide guidance and project solutions to guarantee product quality and reliability. All Diamond LED products are stringently tested and fully compliant with European lighting standards, with many products available with a five year warranty.

Product Focus:

The Select range features products which allow the end user to determine their ideal colour temperature. At the flick of a switch, the electrician can set the colour temperature to cycles of 3000K, 4000K & 5000K.
