In this month’s Face to Face we speak to Damion Huggins, Sales Director at Saxby Lighting & Saxby Electrical, about his involvement in the industry and Saxby’s latest plans.
What is your industry background and how did you get involved with Saxby?
I have been with the company for almost 20 years! I have had the privilege of growing my expertise and career alongside the Saxby brand which has grown dramatically over that time. The number one quality that is required to be successful in my role is being able to build relationships. The Saxby brand ethos is centred on loyalty to our wholesalers and I am delighted to lead the team that is responsible for that in the UK.
What were Saxby’s most popular product lines across the last 12 months?
We have worked incredibly hard on building a collection of our strongest lines in what we call our Saxby signature ranges. These include the Saxby HeroPRO LED bulkhead family, the Rular batten family, the ShieldPRO CCT downlight, the Orbital, Orion LED tape, the Palin outdoor range, the Salde floodlight family, and the ever popular IkonPRO decking kits. Whatever you need we have a tried, tested and loved Saxby product for you! Our ethos is the right product at the right price, to keep it simple. We are delighted that so many of our products are loved and we are very proud of the tags we get on Instagram stories from wholesalers and electricians. There is no better recommendation that we have designed a great product that is easy to install and solves the end user problem.
We are excited to add some great new lines to the catalogue this year, including JunoLED which is an exclusive new spotlight, with interchangeable exterior casings in stunning finishes.
We are also passionate about sharing our success. As part of our commitment to making a positive impact to the communities we live and work in, we were proud to introduce the Saxby HeroPRO LED bulkhead range — supported by a special charity initiative that combines exceptional design with a noble cause. With Saxby Hero, a portion of the proceeds from every purchase goes towards supporting charitable organisations dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others. This initiative reflects our belief in using our success to give back to the communities we operate in. During the year of its launch over £10,000 was donated to NHS Charities Together, this year the Electrical Industries Charity will be the recipients of the donation.
Can you tell us a bit about Saxby’s new initiative?
Yes, we are delighted to introduce Saxby Electrical, over 450 new sockets and switches. It’s an extensive range including a white square edge, white curved edge, plus a decorative screwless and raised screwed in a number of finishes. It also includes grid, euro modules and metal clad. The range was exclusively designed for and by Saxby, to reflect the brand values that Saxby stands for. Excellent products that you can trust, designed to be easy install and great value for money.
