The IBA recently gathered at Whittlebury Hall for its quarterly meeting – ‘The Pursuit’ trade show and awards dinner. Attended by 200 delegates over two days, including 47 supplier exhibitors, the event was a lively meeting of ‘the great and the good’.
Why choose ‘The Pursuit’ for September’s show? Explained as the act of ‘striving to achieve success in a strategy or situation over an extended period’, The Pursuit is apt given the emphasis the group gives to continually developing its commercial relationships. IBA members enjoy equal decision-making rights and transparency in deal voting, through to rebate generation.
Russ Gratton, IBA chairperson/Recon Electrical, commented: “In order to meet our goal of being the go-to buying group for independent electrical wholesalers we are continually encouraging feedback from our entire membership so we can shape the group to best serve their needs. Our board is held accountable at every quarterly meeting which ensures every member knows we are always working with their best interests at our heart.”
At this year’s awards Scolmore scooped IBA Supplier of the Year 2022 – as voted for by members. Paul Jenner, IBA CEO, reflects: “Scolmore is always seeking to innovate and develop. They put real focus on supporting the independent wholesaler and are worthy winners.” Kevin Beech, Group Sales Director, Scolmore Group, said: “Everyone at Scolmore is delighted that we’ve been voted this year’s IBA Supplier of the Year. These awards are held in high regard across the industry for their recognition of excellence and it is an honour for us to receive this accolade. We share a passion with the IBA for quality, service and reliability and we work collaboratively to ensure relationships at all levels within both businesses remain strong and focussed on delivering the best experience for the electrical wholesaler.”
Suppliers also voted on IBA member engagement, with IBA Member of the Year 2022 titles going to AA Jones, Single Branch North & East Midlands; ZLT Electrical, Single Branch South & West Midlands; EDS Electrical, Two to Three Branches National; and 7Core, Four or More Branches National.
