Martindale Electric has launched its top-of-the-range proving unit, covering a wide range of applications to help keep workers safe from the dangers of electricity.
Safe working requires the use of a voltage indicator that has been proven with a suitable proving device, before and after use, to ensure the instrument is working correctly, in accordance with the Electricity at Work Regulations.
The proving unit instantly supplies the test voltage for high and low impedance voltage indicators, test lamps and meters. It is ideal when implementing safe isolation procedures on low voltage AC installations (not exceeding 1000V AC between conductors).
Today, electrical workers are encountering more DC systems, particularly when working within the renewable industries. Therefore, the need to check the correct DC operation of measurement and indication devices used is increasing.
For flexibility, the proving unit has both AC / DC outputs selectable by a push button switch and stepped voltage output with LED indication, matched to two pole tester thresholds with a maximum output voltage of 690V.
In addition, the tool has a long battery life with low battery indicator, auto power-off and features a robust over-moulded low-profile case with magnetic hangers.
