Movers and Shakers: Tom Madden & Sean Raymond

Cable management specialist, Unitrunk, has appointed Tom Madden to the post of Commercial Lead at the company’s Manchester depot.

The appointment is part of a strategic move by Unitrunk to leverage its national depot network and drive customer engagement around the UK and Ireland. In addition to the Manchester depot, the company has depots in Harlow, Bristol, Wolverhampton, Newcastle, Livingstone and Dublin, along with stockholding at its manufacturing sites in Cheshire and Lisburn.

Tom joins Unitrunk following a 14-year career in the electrical wholesale sector, where he has worked for both independents and major players in the North West across a variety of sales, field sales and managerial roles. As a result, he brings a clear understanding of what wholesalers and contractors are looking for from a product supplier to the Unitrunk team, along with knowledge of the Unitrunk RIS (Rapid Installation Systems) range.

Tom explains: “I wasn’t actively looking for a career change but the opportunity to move into a completely new role with a product manufacturer that has taken a unique approach to both its product design and commercial structure was too good to miss.

Sean Raymond has been appointed to the newly-created post of Commercial Lead for its Newcastle depot, continuing the company’s strategic focus on leveraging its depot network to strengthen relationships across the supply chain.

Alongside his sales responsibilities, Sean’s role also includes developing relationships with both wholesalers and contractors to provide specification support, technical assistance and access to Unitrunk training.

Originally trained as a Quantity Surveyor, Sean joins Unitrunk from the steel industry and brings 15 years sales experience to the company. A native of the North east, he understands the competitive challenges of the regional electrical market and the opportunity to drive growth for Unitrunk’s RIS (rapid installation systems) cable management portfolio.

Sean comments: “Unitrunk is a company that has been pushing the boundaries of innovation in its sector for more than 50 years and I am joining at a time when there is an ambitious growth plan in place, with dynamic leadership in the senior team and new commercial leads in each of the depots.”
