As part of the new structure, Laurie Wilson has been promoted to Regional Manager (UK, Ireland & Europe and Central Asia), recognising more than a decade of contribution to the business. Jean‑Baptiste Praud has been promoted to Regional Sales Manager (Europe), while Gary Groves joins CMP as Regional Sales Manager (UK and Ireland) from Riello UPS. Jean‑Baptiste and Gary will report to Laurie, who in turn reports to CEO Vince Patterson. In addition, Kath Kearns will transition into a Key Account Manager (Europe) role, further strengthening support for strategic customers across the region. With nearly 39 years at the business, she has played a key role in driving growth and building strong, lasting relationships with customers across Europe, and her new role ensures continued focus on these key relationships.

Connor Mavers & Declan Shaw

Elucian has strengthened its regional sales team with the appointment of Connor Mavers as Area Sales Manager for the South-Central region, and Declan Shaw as Area Sales Manager for the South Yorkshire & East Midlands region. Connor brings a wealth of knowledge and experience within the electrical sector to the Elucian team. His background includes roles in quality and control, where he supported product testing and development, and contributed to achieving LIA‑accredited status for photometric testing. He has also worked in business development, broadening his commercial insight and strengthening his understanding of customer needs.

Declan brings over a decade of sales experience to the role, including several years within the electrical industry. Having worked for a national electrical wholesaler as an Account Manager before moving into manufacturing, he has developed a strong understanding of both sides of the industry and the challenges faced across the supply chain. This combined experience has helped him build strong customer relationships and develop a customer-focused approach to supporting accounts.

Harry Charalambous & Sean Mullan

Unicrimp has announced the appointment of Harry Charalambous as Area Sales Manager for the London, Reading and Oxford region, and Sean Mullan as Area Sales Manager for Northern Ireland.

Harry brings more than seven years of experience within the electrical sector. He spent six years in branch management roles with leading electrical wholesalers across London, where he built strong customer relationships and developed a deep understanding of the trade. Most recently, he served as an Area Sales Manager for a recognised lighting manufacturer, further expanding his technical knowledge and commercial expertise.

Sean joins the business with a strong background in branch management and customer-facing roles, bringing experience from both the electrical wholesale and motor industries. Most recently, he has worked within electrical wholesale as a Business Development Manager and Branch Manager, developing his understanding of the sector and building strong relationships with customers. Prior to this, he held branch management positions within the motor industry, where he gained valuable experience in sales, operations, and customer service.

CMP Products is evolving its approach to community engagement in 2026, expanding its support to five carefully selected charities across the North East.

In recent years, the Cramlington‑based manufacturer of cable glands, cleats and accessories has supported a Charity of the Year, enabling focused fundraising and awareness activity. While this approach has been successful – including raising £20,000 for Anxious Minds last year – the company has chosen to broaden its support as part of its continued growth and commitment to making a more meaningful impact.

Under the new approach, CMP will support a small number of organisations whose work closely reflects the causes its people care about most and aligns with the company’s Vision, Mission and Values.

The organisations CMP will support are:

• FACT Cancer Support – Providing practical and emotional support to people affected by cancer across the North East
• Hope Centre (Cramlington) – A social ministries hub offering community support services including food and uniform banks and grief support
• Azure Charitable Foundation – Supporting young people with special educational needs and disabilities, enabling greater independence through employment training and workplace partnerships
• Anxious Minds – Delivering early intervention and sustained mental health support for individuals and families
• Local dog and cat shelters – Helping care for and rehome animals in need within the region

This broader framework allows CMP to build deeper, longer‑term partnerships while giving employees more opportunities to contribute – whether through fundraising, volunteering, making donations or raising awareness.

City Electrical Factors (CEF) has announced a new charity partnership with WellChild to support children with complex medical needs and their families through fundraising, volunteering and practical community projects.

The partnership will see CEF support WellChild’s programmes, including Helping Hands, which transforms outdoor spaces into safe and accessible environments for children and their families. CEF volunteers have already completed three Helping Hands projects, with further transformations planned across the UK this year.

Alongside volunteering, CEF team members will raise funds to support WellChild’s wider services, including the Better at Home programme, which helps children leave hospital sooner and receive care safely at home by providing specialist training and support for parents and carers.

One recent Helping Hands project enabled two brothers who use wheelchairs to safely access their garden for the first time, following a transformation completed by CEF volunteers.

Connor Dalton, Director of Sustainability, Health & Safety at CEF, said: “We’re proud to support WellChild and the incredible work they do for seriously ill children and their families across the UK.

Ansell Lighting has continued its support for St. Rocco’s Hospice in Warrington with the creation of a feature lighting wall for a new relaxation room.

St. Rocco’s was Warrington-headquartered Ansell’s charity of the year in 2025, with the business raising more than £1,200. The lighting specialist offered to support with the new relaxation facility, which is now benefitting patients and loved ones who use St. Rocco’s.

Ansell created and installed the feature wall board using its LED Cell strip lighting range. The lighting has a remote control so colours and relaxing scenes can be adjusted according to the needs of the individual patients.

To create a tranquil and relaxing space the room also includes recliner chairs, salt lamps, throws, a music player and blackout blinds and is used for therapies including reflexology, hand and head massage, group therapy sessions and relaxation classes.

Gemma Sheerin, Marketing and Communications Manager at St Rocco’s, said: “The lighting feature wall has brought another dimension to our relaxation room. Using the lights we are able to provide a calm and soothing environment for our patients. The lights help to induce a feeling of relaxation for our patients as soon as they enter the room. During treatments, the lights are also a gentle distraction to help calm the mind as the therapy sooths the body.”

Scolmore Group’s Regional Sales Manager Audra Fellows and Managing Director, Kevin Beech, recently tackled the Snowdon by Night Challenge in aid of the Electrical Industries Charity (EIC).

Taking on the highest mountain in Wales, standing 1,085 metres, Audra and Kevin joined fellow fundraisers in a night-time ascent of Snowdon, also known as Yr Wyddfa. Beginning in the town of Llanberis, located in the heart of Snowdonia National Park, the challenge saw participants trekking to the summit under the cover of darkness, navigating a route that tested both physical endurance and mental resilience.

This initiative forms part of the Scolmore Groups ongoing support for the Electrical Industries Charity, an organisation with a long-standing history of providing vital assistance to individuals working within the electrical and energy sectors.

Having previously taken on the one of the biggest challenges of her life, Audra is no stranger to extreme challenges after successfully completing the 5895m climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Her participation in the Snowdon by Night event reflects a continued personal commitment to pushing boundaries while raising awareness and funds for important causes.

“It’s probably one of the most challenging things I’ve ever experienced” said Kevin Beech, Managing Director of Scolmore Group. “The climb itself was difficult enough, especially in the dark but the descent was even harder! Recolight CEO Nigel Harvey and marketing and communications manager Suzanne Castine recently received SLL honorary fellowships at the AGM in CIBSE’s headquarters in London.

Usually, one award is given each year, but this year an exception was made. Previous recipients have included Kevin McCloud in 2010, Jonathan Speirs in 2003, and Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh back in 1959.

F Mark Ltd founder Simon Fisher FSLL and Circular Lighting Report editor Ray Molony gave the citations for Harvey and Castine respectively.

Outgoing Society of Light and Lighting president Kristina Allison said: “The honorary fellowship recognises a significant contribution not only of services to the Society but to the wider lighting profession. It’s sanctioned by the Executive Committee of the SLL. The work that both do with Recolight has a positive impact on the industry and is incredible.”

On accepting his award, Nigel Harvey said: “I’m absolutely delighted to receive the honorary fellowship of the Society of Light and Lighting. The recognition of professional peers, colleagues and friends is uniquely special. My sincere thanks to the SLL Executive Committee for the award. But I’m only the helmsman at Recolight. We’ve an amazing team, who all play vital roles and this award belongs to us all.”

Suzanne Castine commented: “Thank you to the SLL executive committee for recognising the work I do. Marketing is an overhead, so we’re constantly looking at ways to reduce cost. And as a not-for-profit funded by our WEEE Scheme Lighting manufacturer Members, it’s even more critical for me to be mindful of spend. Therefore, I keep our work in house and don’t use agencies. We were recognised for going above and beyond and were in a room full of lighting professionals who do that too. So many have helped Recolight along the way, presenting at webinars and conferences, offering support, guidance and help.”

Dimplex has reinforced the shift towards proof-based specification with its Edel hot water heat pump now listed on the UK Government-backed Energy Technology List (ETL) – currently the only dedicated hot water heat pump to achieve inclusion.

The listing confirms the Edel range (170, 200 and 270-litre models) meets strict energy performance criteria set out by the scheme, giving specifiers and developers a recognised benchmark at a time when compliance, efficiency and real-world performance are under increasing scrutiny.

As Part L requirements evolve and the transition to all-electric buildings accelerates, technologies that can demonstrate verified performance are moving higher up the decision-making agenda. ETL inclusion provides assurance, helping reduce risk in specification and supporting long-term energy and carbon targets.

Edel is designed to meet this need, using energy extracted from external air to deliver efficient domestic hot water across both new-build and retrofit applications. Its compact, self-contained design allows for straightforward installation in space-constrained settings, without adding unnecessary system burden.

David Patrick, Head of Specification Marketing at Dimplex, said: “Being the only hot water heat pump currently listed on the Energy Technology List is significant because it reflects where the market is heading. Specifiers are being asked to prove performance, not just promise it. Verified technologies give that confidence, particularly as regulation tightens and expectations increase.”

That confidence is already being demonstrated on site – at the Chateau Mews development, delivered with Keepmoat – Edel units were specified as part of a fully electric solution designed to meet modern energy standards and remove reliance on gas.

Installed within standard utility cupboards in each apartment, the compact units addressed space constraints while delivering an efficient, low-carbon hot water system. The approach also supported compliance with updated Part L requirements, where domestic hot water is an increasingly important part of overall energy performance.

The project reflects a wider shift towards decentralised, apartment-level solutions that simplify installation, improve controllability and support compliance without increasing system complexity.

As the industry continues to adapt to evolving regulation and Net Zero targets, Dimplex says independently verified technologies will play a growing role in helping specifiers make confident, well-informed decisions.

David added: “Low-carbon solutions now need to be proven in real-world conditions, not just on paper and that’s where technologies like Edel are making a difference. As the industry moves towards higher performance standards and greater electrification, having that level of confidence in specification will only become more important.”
