Lasnek’s new range of robust printer enclosures are designed to improve safety and increase the lifespan of industrial printers used in production facilities.

Designed for use on any flat surface with a clam shell or swing top industrial printer, the 304 stainless steel printer enclosures feature a wealth of user-friendly benefits to help increase the lifespan of printing equipment.

Fitted with a reversible door for either left-hand or right-hand opening, the unique 270-degree hinge arrangement allows the door to be folded back against the side and held securely with a door clamp. This provides a safe and convenient solution for when the printer is in operation. Furthermore, for added ease of use, a stainless-steel shelf on runners enables a smooth withdrawal of the printer for paper changes or setup.

Designed to prevent cable damage from shelf withdrawal and insertion, the latest range also includes a flexible cable ducting system to hold the power cable and, where applicable, communication cables in position at all times. For printers having an external power supply, a fixed bracket is provided to the rear, positioning cables away from any moving parts.

Manufactured to IP65, The latest range of printer enclosures from Lasnek are available in two sizes to accommodate a selection of industrial printers from Zebra, Honeywell, Sato and Toshiba, and include entry points for power and communication cables and anti-tilt fixing brackets to securely fit the enclosure to the chosen surface.q

The KNIPEX BIX cuts plastic pipes and sealing sleeves without shavings and is so compact that it fits into one hand.

The blade of the practical tool for use in plumbing and electrical applications can be used in two positions: in the middle for regular cutting of various pipe diameters, or with the external blade, enabling sealing sleeves to be cut close to the wall.

In addition to these features, the KNIPEX BIX can be used to empty electrical conduits quickly with little effort and cut high-temperature plastic drainpipes with a diameter of 20-50mm and a wall thickness of up to 2.4mm.

The blade unit integrated in the tool can be rotated by 180° and attached in the centre of the tool to cut various diameters or sealings sleeves 2-3mm from the wall with the blade positioned on the outside. This setting ensures work can be carried out correctly in accordance with DIN 18534, so that moisture is reliably deflected. The KNIPEX BIX can be reliably locked with a small blue latch for safe transport.

Equipped with two spare blades manufactured from surgical stainless steel “Made in Solingen”, the tool itself is cast from sturdy, fibreglass-reinforced plastic.

The demand for matt black wiring accessories has been on the rise in recent years, as installers working on domestic and specification projects look for an alternative premium finish for interiors. We have taken this feedback on board and have extended the popular matt black finish to our Deco and Deco Plus wiring accessories collections to meet this growing trend.

The new matt black finishes are available across all products in the extensive Deco and Deco Plus ranges – to help add the perfect contemporary look to any interior space. Deco Plus is a comprehensive range of premium decorative metal wiring accessories that was first launched in 2017 to build on the huge success of the classic Deco range. Deco Plus introduced smooth, contemporary curves that have wide-ranging appeal with contractors, specifiers and end users alike.

Deco and Deco Plus switch plates are all modular as standard allowing the creation of virtually any switch plate design required. With a wide range of MiniGrid and New Media products also available in the range, this gives installers total flexibility to customise bespoke designs and solutions quickly and easily on site.

The addition of the new matt black finishes brings the number of finishes in the Deco Plus range to eight – polished chrome, satin chrome, polished brass, satin brass, antique brass, stainless steel, black nickel and matt black. The Deco range is also offered in pearl nickel and Georgian to bring the total number of finishes available to 10.

Definity Complete – all in one solution

Having listened to comments from some of our customers, we have taken our popular Definity screwless wiring accessories range and simplified the ordering process.

Up until now, the Definity screwless wiring accessories range has been supplied as two separate elements – insert and cover plate – with each requiring its own separate product code. In a move to simplify the ordering process – particularly with online ordering in mind – Definity inserts and cover plates will now be supplied and packaged together as one unit with one product code.

Definity has evolved from Scolmore’s well-established Define flat plate accessory range and features all of the same attributes including modular switching but without the visible fixing screws. Definity goes one stage further by incorporating screwless, push-fit face plates in a range of finishes. Because the face plates are supplied independently of the electrical inserts it means that the initial installation of the product can be carried out and any subsequent maintenance or decoration completed before the final fixing of the face plate.

The inserts are available in black, white and grey and there are now eight cover plate finishes to choose from – brushed steel, stainless steel, polished chrome, white, red, black, metal white and metal matt black.

Grey is the new black

It is now three years since we first introduced grey inserts to some of our wiring accessories ranges on the back of a growing trend among end users and consumers for stylish finishing touches for their interior décors. From a recent poll of some of our customers, it seems this trend is showing no signs of abating. Whilst decorative finishes such as satin chrome continue to be the number one choice for many, demand for grey inserts and matt black finishes continues to gather momentum.

Today we offer grey inserts across three of our most popular wiring accessories ranges – Deco decorative metal, Deco Plus premium decorative metal and the Definity screwless range.  The grey inserts are offered in addition to black and white, with Deco and Deco Plus products in the stainless steel and satin chrome finishes and Definity products in the brushed steel and stainless steel finishes.
