Last month the UK Government announced changes for the Workplace Charging Scheme that will allow for more EV charging funding for schools and educational institutions.

New grants mean that state-funded schools, colleges, nurseries, and academies can now increase their EV charging facilities with up to 40 charging points covered in the scheme. The Department for Transport will be funding the scheme as part of the Workplace Charging Scheme, providing up to 75 per cent of the cost to buy and install chargepoints. Schools and state-funded educational facilities will be able to claim up to £2,500 per socket, when previously they were only allowed funds up to £350.

The new Workplace Charging Scheme Grant is currently running until 2025.
