Scolmore continues to expand its Elucian consumer unit range to provide electricians with the broadest possible range of units and protective devices to cater for all installation requirements. The latest addition to Elucian is a range of unpopulated, enclosure only consumer units.

As the units are supplied unpopulated, there are no pre-fitted circuit protection devices, which gives total flexibility for installers to design a consumer unit to the exact specification needed.

At the same time the company has added a new, six way size to the unpopulated range which now includes six way, eight way, 10 way, 12 way, 14 way, 16 way, 18 way and 22 way.

Scolmore continues to expand its Elucian consumer unit range to provide electricians with the broadest possible range of units and protective devices to cater for all installation requirements.

New to the range is a 25A rated RCBO which joins the extensive protective devices line-up.

An RCBO protects against a residual current or earth leakage when there is a break in a circuit through poor electrical wiring or an incident such as drilling through a cable. An RCBO also protects against an overcurrent in the form of an overload when too many devices are in use in the circuit, drawing an amount of power which exceeds the capacity of the breaker, or a short circuit which occurs when there is a short between the line and neutral conductors.

The Elucian RCBOs are compact single module devices that allow for additional space above to make it easier to install and terminate outgoing circuits. These devices are Type A rated offering a resilience when DC current is present.

The RCBO protective devices range comprises:

Type A Single Pole B Curve – 6A,10A,16A, 20A, (new 25A), 32A and 40A.

Type A 2 Module Double Pole B Curve – 45A, 50A and 63A.

Scolmore continues to expand its Elucian by Click consumer unit range to provide electricians with products that offer them convenience and easy installation solutions.

The latest addition is a new pattress mount kit which allows cables to be fed from the top, bottom and either side of the consumer unit.

With the pattress mount secured to the wall and attached to the back of the consumer unit, the electrician has space between the mount and the unit to neatly feed cabling from the trunking through the rear knockouts. The mount allows for a maximum of 16mm trunking which would slide behind the consumer unit.

Because the mounting kit comprises two separate parts – a left and right mount – it can be used across any size of distribution board and is therefore compatible with the full Elucian consumer unit range – 5, 8,10,12,14,16 and 22 Way. For the contractor, this means carrying just one type of kit on the van regardless of the size of consumer units being installed, and for the wholesaler it means minimum space taken up in store, with just one size of kit needing to be stocked.
